French papillotes

The papillote (pah-pee-YOT) was born in Lyon, in the Terreaux district, in the late 18th century: a chocolate or fruit jelly wrapped in shiny paper, with a small message tucked inside. It is a French Christmas tradition, and we offer two families of them, made by two houses from our region.

The authentic papillotes of Lyon by Voisin. A Lyon house founded in 1897, holder of the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label (a French state label for exceptional craftsmanship). Ganaches and pralines, in dark or milk chocolate.

The handmade papillotes of the Chocolaterie du Val Janon. Made in Saint-Étienne with pure cocoa butter: hazelnut praline (malakoff), pistachio, orange marzipan, nougat, fruit jellies and vanilla cream. Offered gluten-free, except the nougat.

Bags of 250 g, 500 g or 1 kg, and assortments of 20 or 40 papillotes. Shipped from our shop in Saint-Étienne, to France and abroad.
